@0raykay0 if they were loose the driver should of felt a grind coming from all 4 wheels…..i suspect over torque on all 4 wheels…id even bet those lugnuts were just torqued minutes before this vid was taken
@TheDARK5RELMs The lugnuts were actually the wrong thread pitch for the wheel studs. They appeared to tighten however when a force was applied to them they stripped right off the studs.
The driver of the car got new track wheels/tires but they didn’t get lugs with the wheels. The place that provided the lugs gave him the wrong pitch. The lugs were torqued to 80ft-lbs with an impact wrench. The driver wouldn’t have known that anything was wrong until they sheared.
who put the lugs on, if not the driver? something like that you can usually catch during the install, like: “hmm, why does this lug nut feel so loose when I thread it onto the axle? oh well…” then BAM your tires all fall off and your car sits down
