At moment nothing special . Family man now so got a 1.8 L Mazda 6. Had a good few performance cars tough up threw the years. SiR Civic , Starlet GT Turbo, MX3 V6 Rwd corolla T Cam and Pulsar VZR to name a few, but plannig an RX7 FD3S for project car soon.
Yeah the ae86s are very sought after ,there big money and can fetch 15000 euro for a ment one. A good mod is to drop in the black top 20valve unit and supercharge it in place of the 4age unit. plus rwd is great fun. The corolla 20 valve is also known as the Sprinter Levin AE111.If you have the old gran turismo 2 on ps1 youl see em all. Plus lots of vids on utube. all thee cars are common in New Zealand and Aus also.
wils35 fuck off a trophy would smoke an ep3 its a second faster than the cup in this video. I dout a ep3 could reach 145mph anyways.

Im currently driving a 206 GTi (140bhp), got it for a fair price and 1 lady owner, its actually a nice handling car, like a 205 Gti toned down a bit, fresh set of 205 45 16′s Toyo T1R tyres on it and its suprised me.
I like the 106 GTi, in my eyes peugeot have always made great front drivers and they have always been good for rallying, Well they do the 306 and 106 Rallye.
Ashame peugeot dont really make these great cars any more, they gone to sensible, Bring back the 205 GTi.

we had the Corolla GTi 1.6 we bought for like ?150 just for a run about and thing just revved and revved, Great car and so reliable.
Yeah .its an import. We have a good few here in Ireland. . Most lads seem to be buying these high reving jap 1600cc hothatches now. Its like the GTI is yesterdays car. Mitsi Mirage MIVEC ZR is another one. Its basicly a Jap Colt. Plus the Corolla Twin CAM 20Valve. They all have about 175 BHP standard. But the Pulsar is the real deal. Out of your list i like the 106 GTI. My brothe has one for rallying. But my fav is the Integra Type R DC2. They are fuckin screamers and have great handling.

When you say it would ”beat” the EP3, in what way?
Because it definitely would not ”beat” the EP3 for top speed so depends how you mean by ”beat”.
Both excellent cars and fuck all in it really except the EP3′s top speed and 0 – 60 compared to the 182 but the 182 is better at exiting corners with its mad ass torquey engine.

A clio trophy would beat the civic type r ep3 facelift.
You Forgot Nissan pulsar VZR. Its handling is unbelivable and its also the most powerful 1.6 litre in the world. The N1 version has 198 bhp standard. No turbo. It would piss all of these and i have drivin most of whats on you list.

The Megane R26 F1 (Think that is the best handling front drive hatch there is that comes straight from the factory but it does leave the factory with road legal slick tyres on)

The newest Civic type r is the FN3 type r which is the star wars looking one.
I agree with you its not good compared to the EP3 type r.
Still beats most hatch’s out there but its not an improvement on the EP3.

That civic shown in the video above is an EP3 Civic Type R, Phase 2 (facelift)
I like the EP3 Civic Type R, Phase 1 which they built up to 2003 then in 2004 they facelifted the car (phase 2), which they put new headlights in, changed the lower front valance and added indicators into the door mirrors.
When tiff is driving the phase 2 EP3 type r he stats about the facelift and few tweaks changed to the car,he didnt notice any change its the same great civic.
Yes it is heavier but the facelift that took place the last weeks make it better on that. It lost 100kg and that’s some serious job. I don’t know if it’s faster than the new civic but the new clio RS (also 197) is the definition of a hot hatch. It is a serious competitor of the integra type-r for the best FWD ever in my books. I admire the civic on the video but the new one is bit dissapointing for me not because it;s slower but because it’s not that good in terms of handling as the old one was

To be honest i dont know to much about the new Clio RS, Is that the 197 clio?
Even then i believe the new model clio is abit heavier than the old clio but with say only 15bhp more power.
But is that new clio your refering to have the R888 slicks on like the Megane R model?

To be honest i dont like the facelifted civic, been toned down i think.
Agree with you,
The honda will run and run and run providing you keep topping it up with engine oil as and when it needs it and you warm it up for good 5-10 mins before taking it out (same as the clio or any other car for that matter).
Both cars will last a long time from new providing they are look after properly.
Your also correct when you say these cars are bought for most people to keep for say 1-3 years then they buy another car.
i think you are right for those models. But concerning the new models i would buy the Clio RS over the Type-R any time. And that’s because its very very very hard to find a car that even costs much more the the renault to habdle that good. You have to pay a really good ammount of money to get that handling out of a stock car
The Honda will last after 10 years of hard work, the Renault won’t.
However, many of this cars are rather least for 5 years or even just bought to resale after 1 year.
Thus, generaly it’s become a matter of style.
I still would buy the Type R though. It’s becoming a classic already.
