It’s maddening. The landscape of Los Angeles’ richest suburb is littered with Boxsters. They’re driven by soccer moms while their kids are with the nanny; by USC co-eds living off their parents’ Amex Black card; and by movie agents yet to make the scene and jump to a 911 Cabriolet. It’s enough to make you ignore the history of Porsche engineering and motorsports that this car’s retro-style round face and plump bodywork are meant to evoke.

@soufang Who cares MT can’t review cars so it evens out.
Wow… sounds like a space shuttle when it takes off!!!!!!
0-60 is not the world.
@koukicrisp Yeah Porsche is doing surprisingly well now as far as performance for the price. The new 911 turbo to be released in 2011 has been tested and ran 2.7 0-60 and 11.0 quarter mile. That’s a huge leap past the ZR1 and almost everything else, and all this for $130k. That’s pretty amazing for a $130,000 car to nearly do 10′s stock. Pull out the floor mats and run 10′s.
I’m crying =( I want one badly
Sure go with the mustang. With it’s futuristic live rear axle, you are bound to go around corners backward.
@wnnarace Yeah, that’s true.
@brandenkhan15 well yes a mustang is a great performance bargain but comparing it to a porsche is somethign else
dam there slow. MT got it to 60 in 4.27
@wnnarace True true, and the stats that Inside Line posted are off, go to Motor Trend, it goes 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. I agree that owning a Mustang is different that owning a Porsche, but my point is this, you can still get one heck of a car on a budget and that’s the Mustang.
at brandenkhan there is one major thing u r missing. One is a porsche the other is a mustang. sure the mustang is fast and it actually only does 4.8 even with the 5.0. The porsche is pretty much better in every catergory and if u have drove a boxster or cayman on the track it is phenomenal.
@porschecarreragtmay6 Uglier is an opinion, but the 0-60, 1/4 mile, and the handling are close to the Porsche for a lot less money…
The Spyder does 0-60mph in 4.1sec
The boxster does 0-60mph in 4.1sec
Road and track and a lot of other car magazines said it does 0-60mph in 4.1sec
@brandenkhan15 Yes, they were released today. And it’s slower than the Boxster… And uglier.
@gunzkevin It’s supposed to be 0-60 in the low 4 sec range, trust me. Also if you want to see how good the handling is and how fast it goes just go to Google news and type in 2011 Ford Mustang, you’ll be surprised, I am.
@porschecarreragtmay6 Here…just go to Google news and type in 2011 Ford Mustang GT and you should find an article or two on how fast and how good it handles, you’ll be surprised, I am.
@brandenkhan15 Yea I agree it will be a great car. I love mustangs, not arguing it will be good, but I don’t think it can handle as good and as effortlessly as this porsche. And I didn’t know they were updating the suspension.
@brandenkhan15 I’m all for the mustang, I love them. And am currently waiting on my 2011 v6 to be built for my lease. I don’t think 4.3 will be the 0-60 but yea I agree, the mustang is a great car and handles the best out of the camaro challenger and tons of other cars.
@brandenKhan15 (Part 2)
The Mustang will be fishtailing all over the place. I’ve driven a 911 Carrera 4S and I own a ’08 Mustang GT/CS. The Boxster Spyder is faster than the C4S I drove, but it was 10x better than my Mustang. So, the new Mustang will be just as “not good”.
@brandenkhan15 (Part 1) You’re completely wrong. The new Mustang will not reach 60 in the 4.3 second range, or handle nearly as good. Plus, the Mustang needs 412hp to even come close! This only needs 320hp. The 911 Carrera S doesn’t even have 412hp (385hp), and a 911 C2S will blow any Mustang (considering it’s stock) off of the road. Just look how planted the Boxster Spyder looks on that slalom.
